Titanfall 2 Inside Development Series: Servers

The second video from Respawn Entertainment includes a brief overview from Jon “Slothy” Shiring, Lead Engineer on Titanfall 2, on the Titanfall 2 servers. Titanfall used Microsoft’s Azure Cloud to host their mulitplayer servers and they will once again utilize Azure as well as Google’s cloud services and Amazon’s cloud services. In addition to these cloud based services Titanfall 2 will also use bare metal servers. They are also teaming up with a company called Multiplay who specializes in development, server/network setup and configuration for multiplayer video games.

Titanfall 2 Inside Development Series: Intro

Respawn Entertainment released the first video in their new series Titanfall 2 Inside Development that gives fans a inside look behind the scenes at what the development team has been working on. The first video titled Titanfall 2 – Inside Development: Intro is accompanied by a blog post by Drew McCoy, producer on Titanfall 2. The video runs 1 minute 40 seconds and briefly touches on some high level features that will be featured in future videos changes to the multiplayer match making system, social media aspect called Networks, as well as game play features, progress system and more. The series will feature actual game developers talking about their job and role in the game.

It’s meant for those hard core fans or those who may want to learn a little about game development.

About Titanfall 2

Titanfall 2 is an upcoming first person shooter currently in development by Respawn Entertainment. The game is being built using a customized version of the Source game engine and is the sequel to 2014’s Titanfall.  In Titanfall 2, players again take on the role of a Titan pilot, starting out as a foot soldier who can jump into a giant mech called a Titan. The game will include both a single player campaign and multiplayer game modes. Titanfall 2 was officially unveiled at the 2016 E3 Convention where it won the Game Critics Award for Best Online Multiplayer Game. It was also nominated for Best of Show and Best Action Game. Respawn Entertainment has also announced that many of the DLC map packs and game modes will be made available free of charge. Titanfall 2 is scheduled for release on Octover 28, 2016.
