Halo 5: Guardians launch was just over a week ago and in that time it has become the fastest selling game for the Xbox One system and the largest launch in the Halo franchise. It has raked in more than $400 million in software and hardware sales that have allowed the franchise to surge past $5 billion in total sales. The official press release also includes some other impressive statistics including more than 21 million total hours of game play, 12 million in the campaign mode and 9 million total hours in multiplayer modes. The Halo 5: Guardians launch also earned a GUINNESS World Record for being the most watch video game launch with more than 330,000 unique users on the night of the live stream and more than 5 million views in the one week of release.

Halo 5: Guardians is a sci-fi first person shooter and fifth title in the Halo franchise of games. The game text place in the year 2558, eight months after the events of Halo 4 Spartan Ops. The plot moves back and forth between two fireteams which are made up of one playable character and persistent squad mates that accompany and fight with the protagonist. In one of the fireteams, is led by Master Chief, who players control and who is the main protagonist in the four previous Halo games.

The overall game play and features in Halo 5 are consistent with previous Halo releases, player are equipped with a MJOLNIR power armor, have the ability to carry two weapons at once which can be swapped out at any time, and can carry grenades.
