The Fallout 4 release is just a couple days away and Microsoft is offering, for a limited time, a Fallout 4 promotion where anyone who purchases the game for the Xbox One will receive a free copy of 2008’s Fallout 3. The game will be backwards compatible with the Xbox 360. The Fallout 4 promotion was first announced at E3 2015 back in June, but at that time there was no end date give. It has since been clarified and gamers will have until February 6, 2016 to take advantage of the promotion.

It has also been confirm that Fallout 3 will be one of the first Xbox 360 games being offered for the Xbox One with the new Xbox One Experience that is due to hit the console on November 12th. The Xbox One Experience will introduce a new home screen, user interface and social networking aspects along with the much hyped backwards compatibility with more than 100 Xbox 360 titles. The list of compatible Xbox 360 titles will be released early this week.

Fallout 4 is a post-apocalyptic, action role-playing game that is set in a grime future where humans struggle to survive. This, the fifth full release in the series is set in and around the city of Boston and New England and takes place during the same time-frame as Fallout 3 and will feature a new protagonist and non player characters. Game play takes place in an open game world with both objective based missions to move the overall story along as well as side missions and quests for players to earn experience, gain loot and interact with characters in the game which can have an impact on the outcome of the story.

Fallout 4 is set for release on Tuesday November 10, 2015 for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For those of you that have pre-purchased the game through Steam, Xbox Live or PlayStation Network, pre-loading should already be underway or even complete giving you access to the game right as the clock strikes midnight on November 10th.
