Banner Saga 3 Kickstarter crowd funding project was announced today by independent video game development company Stoic. The Banner Saga 3 Kickstarter is now live for the next 30 days and has a pledge goal of $200,000. The turn based strategy game series got its start with Banner Saga Kickstarter back in 2012 and launched to much critical acclaim. It was followed up by Banner Saga 2 released in April 2016 and now Stoic would like to bring you the third and final chapter in the series.
Banner Saga 3 players will journey into a new world unlike any encountered in the previous games. Making a return will be the hand drawn graphics set in the age of Vikings. Players will adventure through tactical battles and make decisions that impact the lived of their family and clansmen. There are a number of stretch goals included in the Banner Saga 3 Kickstarter which will add content and enhance the game, but as of the opening of the Kickstarter campaign, these stretch goals have yet to be determined but will only be triggered if the initial $200,000 goal is met. For Banner Saga 3, Stoic will not be accepting outside or private funding for the project.
Pledges for the Banner Saga 3 Kickstarter begin at a $20 level which includes the game and access to Backer Forums, Galleries and Badges. The estimated delivery/release date for Banner Saga 3 is December 2018.
The original Banner Saga (Buy From Amazon) and Banner Saga 2 (Buy From Amazon) have been very successful both critically and commercially and the goal of Kickstarter campaign is expected to be met. The first title in the series Banner Saga was awarded the Game Developer’s Choice aware for Best Debut in 2014 and three BAFTA Award nominations. The second entry in the series, Banner Saga 2 was runner up as the Best Strategy game in the Strategy Game and Hardcore Gamers Best of 2016.
